MEET LINDA MCMULLEN LINDA ROYSTER MCMULLEN has spent 41 years (yes, 41!) in the field of education.
Her career as an independent educational consultant spans 25 years. This translates to well over two decades of exposure to
the various policies, procedures and changes within the educational realm! As a former teacher and counselor in both public
and private high schools, Linda's professional experiences include regular visits to "special needs" facilities, summer programs,
boarding schools, and colleges/universities throughout the United States. Linda is a firm believer in experiential learning as a method of gaining and maintaining
familiarity with the myriad of choices available to you. That is why she has had site visits to well over 800 institutions.
After all, schools and facilities are more than simply their literature.
What qualifies her to help my child? Linda holds a Bachelor's degree from one of the top educational institutions
in the USA, Emory University, as well as
a Masters from University of Bridgeport. In addition, she has completed several post-graduate courses in Counseling Psychology
and in Addictions, as well as over 2500 hours of continuing education in her field of expertise.
A Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and
Certified Educational Planner she has served on numerous Boards, including 2 terms for the Georgia Mental Health Association
and 2 terms for the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina. In addition, Linda has been both an ACT
and SAT Reviewer for Peterson's Publishing Group.
In order to bring you the most current information from the world of educational consulting, Linda actively participates
in professional organizations. Currently she is the Director for all Southern Association for College Admission Counseling
(SACAC) Drive-in Workshops in 9 member States plus Puerto
Rico and the Virgin Islands. These
"bring the mountain to Mohammed" by providing high school guidance counselors the opportunity to earn CEUs while digesting
enlightening information from seasoned SACAC members and other admissions experts that will benefit their students. Previously,
she has served 2 terms as North Carolina's
representative to SACAC's Admission Practices (Ethics) Standing Committee.
Linda is a popular presenter and panelist at workshops and conferences where she is known
for her enthusiasm and dynamic approaches. Although her professional service activities are far too numerous to list here,
they include voluntary leadership roles on conference committees and past membership on the Legislative and Professional Concerns
Standing Committee of SACAC. A complete list of professional activities is available upon request.
The key to Linda's approach
is the way she uses her counseling background to establish a rapport with the families whom she assists. Linda has touched
many lives, as indicated by unique honors bestowed upon her by others. Early in her career she was named an Outstanding
Young Woman of America and Outstanding Secondary Educator of America. While teaching, a high school yearbook
was dedicated to her. A residential treatment facility in South Carolina gave its new adolescent Counseling Center her name. The list is endless.
